ZEE5 Kanjoos Makhichoos Review: Kunal Kemmu Shines But The Film Falls Flat

Kanjoos Makhichoos Review

Kunal Kemmu is severely underrated as a comedic actor. He is the only one who saves this film from going into the depths of being one of the worst comedy movies ever produced in the Hindi film industry. It seems that the Indian film industry has lost its way when it comes to making comedies that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Hotstar’s recent release Pop Kaun? is another example of a badly constructed narrative that is only watchable because of its ultimate cast of comedians.

A good story is a must have for a comedy film to succeed. Hera Pheri, Welcome, Dhamal, Golmaal and other hit comedy movies of the past had a storyline that seems to be moving forward. Kanjoos Makhichoos, on the other hand, seems stuck at certain points. It feels that the writers did not know which route to take so they kept spinning the same thing over and over again.

Forced jokes that even the director would have realised while making the film does no good for anyone. The film falls completely flat and there is nothing except Kunal Kemmu’s acting that you could find watchable. Even great actors like Piyush Mishra and Shweta Tripathi are fully wasted in this film that no head or tail.

Kanjoos Makhichoos seems like a film that was made just for the purpose of completing a project. It gives the vibe of a half baked project that never realised what it really wanted to present. In conclusion, Kanjoos Makhichoos is a film that you can afford to miss without feeling any remorse.
