In 2021, Universal Pictures and Universal 1440 Entertainment revealed plans for a sequel to the 2017 Woody Woodpecker film. Additionally, it was announced that the sequel would be shot in Victoria, Australia, with filming taking place in Melbourne and various regional areas. Recently, in February 2024, it was confirmed that the movie is set for a dual release in theaters and on Netflix on April 12, 2024.
