Witchboard is an upcoming American supernatural horror film directed by Chuck Russell and co-written by Russell and Greg McKay. This remake of the 1986 classic stars Jamie Campbell Bower, Madison Iseman, Aaron Dominguez, Antonia Desplat, and Charlie Tahan.
Witchboard Release Date
In 2017, Chuck Russell and Greg McKay were attached to write a script for the remake of the 1986 film Witchboard. By May 2019, it was reported that Russell would also direct the film, with production by Grimmfest in partnership with Minds Eye Entertainment, Falconer Pictures, and M2 Media Post.
Pre-production restarted in March 2023, with A-Nation Media replacing the previous production studios. Principal photography occurred in Montreal and New Orleans from April to June 2023, with some scenes shot at Morgan Arboretum in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue in late May. The production was granted an interim agreement, allowing actors to continue working during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.
The film is set to premiere at the 28th Fantasia International Film Festival in July 2024, followed by a release by Gala Films later in the year.

Witchboard Plot
Emily, her fiancé Christian, and their group of friends open a new organic café in the French Quarter of New Orleans by renovating an old carriage house. However, things take a dark turn when Emily discovers an ancient pendulum board once used for summoning spirits.
Concerned for Emily’s well-being, Christian enlists the help of an occult expert named Alexander Babtiste, who has knowledge of the bloodlines connecting them to the witchboard. As events unfold, a modern coven of White Witches, a masked ball at Babtiste’s mansion, and the legacy of Naga Soth, the Queen of Witches, all become part of a dangerous game that puts Emily’s soul in peril.
