WhatsApp is continuously making new changes and adding interesting new features to the app. The messaging platform has already made the UPI payments within India available, and now it seems that WhatsApp is ready to take the initiative a notch higher. International payments via UPI on WhatsApp will make the app a significant payment player, similar to Google Pay, PhonePe, or PayTM in India.
WhatsApp has yet to confirm anything about the update or the new feature. As of now, it is just a rumour backed by an X user’s leaks. The tipster @assembledebug on Twitter shared the screenshots of the supposed upcoming feature.
He claimed that WhatsApp is currently working on the feature and will make it available to Indian customers soon. The feature is going to allow Indian users to make international payments through UPI. However, one can only make international payments after enabling the said option in the banking app or web mobile banking.
Usually, commercial banks in India do not enable this feature from the start, and you have to put in a request or simply enable it through your mobile banking to start enjoying the benefit.
