WhatsApp is continuously working on adding new features, with many still under development. In its latest beta update for Android (2.24.26.6), the platform has rolled out a new quick reply feature for voice messages.
The new feature operates similarly to the recently introduced reply button for video messages. According to a report by WaBetaInfo, when a user listens to a voice message, a quick reply button will appear next to the message. Tapping this button allows users to instantly record and send a voice reply without manually selecting the “reply” option or navigating away. The reply will be directly linked to the original voice note.
Previously, users had to swipe or tap on the voice message, select the reply option, and then record a response. The new feature simplifies this process by eliminating extra steps. “A new button appears next to voice notes, enabling users to immediately record and send a reply as soon as they start listening to the message,” the report added.

The quick reply feature is currently available to select beta testers and will roll out to all users in the coming weeks. Interested users can access this feature by updating to the latest WhatsApp beta version for Android through the Google Play Store.
In addition, WhatsApp is working on a similar feature for group chats. In this version, the reply button will be placed above the message send button, allowing group members to use it seamlessly. Another recent beta update hinted at a gesture-based feature for initiating voice chats. With this functionality, scrolling up will automatically start a voice chat once the feature is fully developed.
WhatsApp continues to refine its platform with innovative tools to enhance user convenience, making communication faster and more intuitive.
