Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting the UAE for two days. He’ll join different events and launch Bharat Mart to boost trade between Indian sellers and UAE buyers. It’s like India’s version of China’s ‘Dragon Mart,’ providing storage for small Indian businesses to sell in Dubai. Bharat Mart will be a one-stop platform for Indian exporters to display their goods in the Gulf region.

Similar to Dragon Mart, India’s Bharat Mart is currently in the planning phase and will be launched virtually. It’s anticipated to be up and running by 2025.

Bharat Mart is set to cover a vast area spanning over 100,000 square meters, offering a flexible space for warehousing, retail, and hospitality services. Positioned as a comprehensive destination, it will cater to various commercial needs and activities.

Located at Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), Bharat Mart will be managed by DP World. It will feature display areas, offices, warehouses, and services to accommodate diverse product categories, from heavy machinery to perishable goods. Additionally, plans include establishing a digital platform for easy sourcing of goods from the facility for global buyers.

What is the Objective of Bharat Mart in India-UAE Trade?

Bharat Mart is expected to enhance India-UAE trade and play a vital role in achieving the goals outlined in the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The agreement aims to double the non-petroleum trade target between India and the UAE to $100 billion by 2030.
