Vivo X80 Series with India’s First IMX866 Launched, Check Price and Features

Vivo X80 Series consisting of Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro, was launched in India on 18 May 2022, about one month after its global launch. The flagship smartphones from Vivo start at ₹54,999 for the standard version, while the Pro variants start at ₹79,999. The phone features IMX866 developed by Sony, which can perform exceptionally under the low lights and offers a cinematic experience. Vivo has declared that phones will change how people view smartphone cameras. Vivo has claimed that it has discovered the perfect combination for taking the smartphone’s camera one notch higher than the current scenario with Zeiss Optics and Zeiss lenses.

Here are all the features of the Vivo X80 Series:

Display:

Vivo X80 comes with a 6.78 inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The resolution for the screen is set at 1080 x 2400 pixels with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a density of 388ppi. The phone has an impressive 89.4% screen to body ratio.

On the other hand, Vivo X80 Pro flaunts a 6.78 inch LTPO3 AMOLED display which can cast over 1 Billion colours with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The phone has a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels and a density rate of 557ppi. The Pro version’s aspect and screen to body ratio are almost identical to the standard Vivo X80.

Operating System:

Vivo X80 Series smartphones run on Origin OS Ocean based on Android 12 by Google. However, Vivo X80 MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset with an Octa-Core CPU while Vivo X80 Pro features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with an Octa-Core CPU.

Memory and RAM:

Vivo X80 Series does not offer the option of expandable memory in both devices. Vivo X80 comes in two combinations of Internal Memory and RAM- 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 12GB RAM. In contrast, Vivo X80 Pro has only one variant of- 256GB 12GB RAM.

Rear and Front Cameras:

Vivo X80 includes a triple camera set up at the back. The phone has a 50MP primary camera and 12MP cameras for telephoto and ultrawide angles. Vivo claims it can record 4k videos at 30/60fps and 1080p videos at 30/60fps. Other notable features include Sony IMX866, Zeiss Lens technology and sensors, dual-tone flash, HDR and panorama.

On the flip side, Vivo X80 Pro has a quad rear camera setup. It has a 50MP camera for the wide view, which is considered the primary camera for the smartphone. There is an 8MP camera for periscope telephoto and a 12MP telephoto camera in combination with that. The ultrawide camera for the smartphone harbours 40 megapixels. Notable features and senors for the camera are similar to Vivo X80, but X80 Pro can also record 8k videos.

Both smartphones have similar 32MP front cameras for selfies and video calls. It can also record videos in 4K at 30/60fps and 1080p at 30fps.

Battery:

Vivo X80 is equipped with a 4,500mAh non-removable battery which supports 80W fast charging. Vivo claims half of the phone can be charged in just 11 minutes. It also supports reverse charging. Contrary to that, Vivo X80 Pro has a 4,700mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. X80 Pro is fully chargeable in 37 minutes. It also supports 50W wireless charging that can fully recharge the device in 50 minutes. Finally, it keeps the reverse charging option as well.
