Vande Bharat trains with chair car coaches are already running in most states across the country. Now, there is eager anticipation for the sleeper version of Vande Bharat. Initially, it was expected to launch by January or February, but with March already here, there has been no sign of it. However, a new update has emerged regarding its launch. The train will be introduced after getting approval from the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (CCRS). The CCRS inspection is expected to begin soon, where the train’s technical parameters will be examined. Approval is likely to be granted this month, after which India will soon have its first sleeper Vande Bharat train.
According to an ET Now report, a senior railway official has confirmed that before the launch, CCRS will conduct a thorough inspection of the sleeper Vande Bharat train and approval will be granted within March itself. This means that the train could soon be seen running on the tracks. It will provide great comfort to long-distance passengers, allowing them to travel while lying down and resting comfortably.

It is important to note that the trial run of the sleeper Vande Bharat was successfully completed in January. The Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) conducted trial runs on various routes for nearly a month to ensure there were no technical issues. With a successful trial run, the Railway Ministry plans to introduce more sleeper versions of Vande Bharat. Officials have revealed that between April and December this year, nine sleeper Vande Bharat trains are expected to be launched on different routes across the country.
