The Signal is a riveting and emotionally charged mystery-drama written by and starring Florian David Fitz. This gripping mini-series, consisting of four 60-minute episodes, is set to premiere worldwide on March 7, exclusively on Netflix.
The original concept for the story was conceived by Nadine Gottmann and Sebastian Hilger, with adaptation for the screen by Florian David Fitz, Nadine Gottmann, and Kim Zimmermann. Directed by Sebastian Hilger and Philipp Leinemann, The Signal was produced by Christian Springer, Amir Hamz, Fahri Yardim, and Johannes Jancke, under the production company Bon Voyage Films GmbH.
The production received support from the German Motion Picture Fund (GMPF), a funding program of the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, along with additional VFX production support from the Bavarian TV and film promotion fund Filmfernsehfonds Bayern.

What is The Signal About?
Back on Earth after months in orbit, Paula anticipates a joyous reunion with her family just a short flight away. However, her return journey takes a tragic turn when Paula mysteriously disappears en route, leaving her husband Sven and their daughter Charlie waiting in vain at arrivals.
As Sven grapples with shielding Charlie from the devastating news, he clings to any glimmer of hope, especially when Paula leaves behind a cryptic riddle. Desperately following the breadcrumb trail, Sven’s life unravels further as the riddle deepens, posing a looming threat not just to him and Charlie, but to the entire planet. Meanwhile, Paula’s time on the ISS leads to an astonishing discovery in the vastness of space.
