Fresh figures have been released for the Sunday box office collection of Amar Kaushik’s latest film, Stree 2. The horror-comedy recorded its second-highest single-day collection so far, with an estimated ₹55 crore nett in India on Sunday, according to Sacnilk.com.
The film, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has now amassed an estimated ₹190.55 crore nett in India over four days. On Sunday, Stree 2 saw an impressive 70.41% Hindi occupancy, with Bengaluru leading with an 84% turnout.
About Stree 2
Directed by Amar Kaushik, this Hindi film is the sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, which launched Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe. Alongside Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, the film also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana. Stree 2 was released in theaters across India on August 15, coinciding with Independence Day.
According to the production house, the film’s net domestic collection reached ₹145.8 crore by the end of three days. A post on the banner’s X page read, “The UNDISPUTED STREE of the box office! Thank you, audience, for making it happen.”

Stree 2 continues the story of the main characters from the first film, who previously solved the mystery of the female ghost. This time, they face a new terror in the form of a ghost known as Sarkata, who only has a head. The film is part of producer Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe, which also includes titles like Bhediya and Munjya.
