SpiceJet Cancels Flight 5 Minutes Before Boarding, Triggers Outrage and Protests at Delhi Airport

Passengers on a SpiceJet flight had a tense confrontation with airline officials at Delhi Airport on Saturday after the airline abruptly cancelled the flight just five minutes before boarding.

The cancelled flight, SpiceJet No. SG 495, was set to depart from Delhi to Darbhanga, Bihar.

Videos of angry passengers protesting at the airport have surfaced on social media.

Frustrated passengers were seen chanting slogans like “SpiceJet murdabad, murdabad” at the boarding gate in Terminal 3 of Delhi Airport, expressing their anger over the last-minute cancellation.

Many passengers voiced their dissatisfaction with SpiceJet’s frequent flight cancellations and delays on the social media platform X.

One passenger shared his frustration over the cancellation of his flight from Delhi to Goa, writing, “SpiceJet SG211 flight from Delhi to Goa is cancelled after being delayed multiple times. We’ve been at the airport since 7:00 AM after traveling from Shimla the previous evening.”

Another passenger expressed dissatisfaction about a different SpiceJet flight from Ahmedabad to Varanasi.

“T2 – SpiceJet Ahmedabad to Varanasi flight. We’ve been waiting for 30 minutes due to a lack of security staff. @ahmairport @AdaniOnline, this is not the level of service we expect from an international airport,” the post read.
