Salman Khan is all set to entertain his fans once again. His much-awaited film Sikandar is hitting theaters on March 30, coinciding with Eid. The film features Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, and Sathyaraj in key roles and is directed by A.R. Murugadoss. With a massive buzz surrounding the film, it has now been confirmed that Sikandar will stream on Netflix after its theatrical run. The details of its OTT deal have also surfaced.
Netflix Buys Sikandar OTT Rights for ₹85 Crore
According to a Pinkvilla report, Netflix has purchased the post-theatrical streaming rights of Sikandar for ₹85 crore. The deal was finalized in March 2025. Moreover, if the film grosses over ₹350 crore at the box office, the deal amount may increase to ₹100 crore.
Massive Earnings Even Before Release
Before its theatrical release, Sikandar has already earned between ₹165-180 crore from non-theatrical deals, including digital, satellite, and music rights. The satellite rights were sold to Zee for ₹50 crore, while Zee Music acquired the music rights for ₹30 crore. The overall budget of Sikandar is estimated to be around ₹200 crore.
However, some reports suggest that the digital rights deal is relatively lower compared to Salman Khan’s star power. Previous blockbuster films like Kalki 2898 AD, Pathaan, Jawan, and Salaar secured much higher OTT deals, making Sikandar’s Netflix deal seem comparatively smaller.
Even films with lower budgets, such as Laxmii, Bhuj: The Pride of India, and Sadak 2, have received better OTT deals. Here’s a look at some of the highest OTT deals in Bollywood and South Indian cinema.
Top Highest-Selling OTT Deals
Film | OTT Deal Amount |
---|---|
Kalki 2898 AD | ₹375 crore |
Jawan | ₹250 crore |
Salaar | ₹162 crore |
Jailer | ₹100 crore |
Pathaan | ₹100 crore |
KGF Chapter 2 | ₹320 crore |
Laxmii | ₹125 crore |
Bhuj: The Pride of India | ₹110 crore |
Sadak 2 | ₹70 crore |
Despite its strong box office expectations, Sikandar’s OTT deal appears modest compared to these big-ticket films. However, its final streaming earnings will depend on its theatrical performance. Fans eagerly await to see how much the film can earn at the box office before it lands on Netflix.
