What to Do During Sawan Month 2024

  • Perform the rituals and worship of Lord Shiva methodically.
  • Perform abhishek of the Shivling with water, milk, or ghee.
  • Chant the “Om Namah Shivaya” mantra.
  • Recite the “Shiv Chalisa” or “Shiv Stuti”.
  • Observe a fast on Mondays and perform special worship of Lord Shiva.
  • It is considered highly auspicious to donate during Sawan, so charity is especially important during this time.
  • Consume a sattvic diet for benefits.
  • Participate in the Kanwar Yatra; it is believed that this can fulfill all desires and bring good outcomes.
  • Wear white and green clothes during Sawan.

  • Avoid activities like cutting hair, nails, and shaving during Sawan.

  • Do not oversleep during the month of Sawan.
  • Avoid sleeping on a bed; it is recommended to sleep on the ground during this month.
