Republic Day Travel Advisory: Key Flight, Traffic, and Delhi Metro Restrictions for 26 January

With Republic Day celebrations nearing, traffic restrictions are in place across Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram. If you plan to travel or fly out, here’s what you need to know.

Flight Restrictions

From January 19 to 29, flights at IGI Airport will not operate between 10:20 AM and 12:45 PM. Non-scheduled and chartered flights are restricted from 10 AM to 1:15 PM. Flights by the IAF, BSF, and state-owned aircraft will continue as usual.

Delhi Metro Timings

Metro services will start at 4 AM on January 26, running every 30 minutes until 6 AM before resuming the regular schedule.

Traffic Restrictions

The Republic Day parade rehearsal on January 23 begins at 10:30 AM from Vijay Chowk to Red Fort. Commercial vehicles cannot enter Delhi from 10 PM on January 22 to 1:30 PM on January 23.

Noida and Gurugram Advisory

Heavy, medium, and light goods vehicles from Noida to Delhi will be restricted. Traffic will be managed at Kalindi Kunj, DND, and Chilla Borders, with diversions via the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

Travel Tips

Use Ring Road, NH-44, or other bypasses. Roads like Rafi Marg, Janpath, and Man Singh Road may close from 10 PM on January 25. Avoid parking near the parade route and use public transport for smoother travel.
