Google has announced a new feature that lets you turn yourself on Google. In this new feature, users can now create a “Google People Card” about themselves on the Google Search page, displaying all the relevant mentioned information on the web.
This information will contain all the information that you want to display such as your name, date of birth, your job credentials, the origin of birth, your mentioned location, work experience, phone number, email address, and more.
This feature, called the Google People Cards, is a digital form of a business card that will allow users to create their profile online. The feature is introduced to make people come out on a worldwide platform and introduce themselves via an online medium.
“It’s like a virtual visiting card, where you can highlight your existing website or social profiles you want people to visit, plus other information about yourself that you want others to know,” Google wrote in a blog post yesterday.

Creating a Google’s People Card will firstly require a user to sign in to their Google Account. Then, simply search for your name or write “add me to Search” in the Google Search bar. From there, you can add all the information you want to show on your profile.
Users can add a display image, their description, any links to their websites, social profiles, and contact details such as the mobile number and email ID on a Google People Card. “The more information you provide, the easier it is for people to find you,” says Google.
To ensure correct and reliable information is on the cards and also to protect users from abusive and offensive content, Google has put in numerous services of controls and protections in place to accommodate safe data storage and retrieval.
“We have a number of mechanisms to protect against abusive or spammy content, and if you come across low-quality information or a card that you believe was created by an impersonator, you can tap the feedback link to let us know,” said Lauren Clark, Product Manager for Search at Google.
Adding to its security, each user is allowed only one People Card and this card must be authenticated with the user’s Google account and a unique phone number. To accomplish a safe usage, the users will also have complete can add/remove/delete any detail at any time.
With complete control, you can also opt-out of the experience entirely and your card will stop showing up in search. Lastly, to report any misconduct or an impersonator, there is also a feedback button available on cards to report such matters easily.
Interestingly, at the moment, the Google People Cards feature is introduced to Indian consumers only. When asked about its reason, Google stated that the people here in India have an ‘affinity’ to search themselves which has made us provide a helpful feature to all of them.
