Pushpa 2 Box Office Day 20: Allu Arjun’s Film Crosses ₹1600 Crore, Breaks Baahubali 2 and Dangal Records

Director Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to break records at the box office, even with competition from Baby John and Mufasa: The Lion King. The film has maintained strong interest throughout its three-week run, partly due to a tragic incident at a premiere screening in Hyderabad and the controversy surrounding star Allu Arjun, who faced legal charges in the aftermath.

On its 20th day of release, Pushpa 2 earned ₹14.2 crore in India, surpassing Monday’s ₹13 crore collections. The majority of the revenue came from the Hindi version, which grossed ₹11.5 crore on Day 20, pushing its lifetime nett collections past ₹700 crore, making it the highest-earning Hindi film of all time, ahead of Jawan, Pathaan, and Stree 2. The film has grossed nearly ₹1100 crore in India alone.

Globally, Pushpa 2 has crossed ₹1600 crore, making it the third-highest-grossing Indian film of all time, behind Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (₹1700 crore) and Dangal (₹2000 crore). A significant portion of its earnings came from China.

A sequel to Pushpa: The Rise (2021), which earned over ₹350 crore during the pandemic, Pushpa 2 stars Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna. While the film has received mostly positive reviews, its success has been overshadowed by the tragic death of a woman at a screening in Hyderabad, where Allu Arjun was present. He was arrested and questioned by the police but has expressed his grief and innocence.
