Pegasus Spyware: Everything You Need To Know About This Malicious Software

What is pegasus spyware?

The highly advanced ‘Pegasus’ Spyware was created by Israeli-based cyber intelligence firm NSO Group. The 2021 Project Pegasus revelations suggest that current Pegasus software can exploit all recent iOS versions up to iOS 14.6.

What are some of the features of pegasus spyware?

According to multiple media reports, users are unlikely to notice Pegasus infiltrating their devices. It can turn it into a 24-hour surveillance device. It can record calls, film you through your phone’s camera, or activate the microphone to record your conversations.

Pegasus Spyware can easily navigate and locate where you are, where you have been, or even who you met.

It is licensed to governments around the world by the Israeli company NSO Group. It can infect billions of phones, whether it be iOS devices or Android devices.

A recent tactic is “zero-click” attacks. This tactic does not require any interaction from the phone’s owner to succeed.

The malware is sent in more than 1,400 phones by using this “zero-click” tactic. It can attach itself even if the user does not pick up a call or interact.

Can Pegasus Software be dangerous or beneficial?

As stated by Guarnieri, “Things are becoming a lot more complicated for the targets to notice.”

Although the NSO group may have clear ideas while implementing it, i.e., to reduce the chances of terror and crime, this software can be greatly misused by people with ill intentions.
