Not only on this route but there are also several flights where the base fare for tickets is less than ₹1,000. All these flights operate under the Regional Air Connectivity Scheme, which provides various incentives to airline operators.
22 Routes With Less Than Rs 1000 Flight Ticket Price
There are 22 routes where the base airfare is less than ₹1,000 per person. The lowest one-way fare is ₹150 for flights connecting Lilabari and Tezpur in Assam. These flights are operated by Alliance Air. When booking a ticket, a convenience fee is also added to the base fare.
The base fare for flights to and from Guwahati and Shillong is ₹400. For Imphal-Aizawl, Dimapur-Shillong, and Shillong-Lilabari flights, the fare is ₹500. The fare for the Bengaluru-Salem flight is ₹525, for Guwahati-Pasighat it is ₹999, and for the Lilabari-Guwahati route, it is ₹954.

Regional Connectivity Scheme with Flights from Rs 150-199
Generally, flights operating under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) on these routes have a duration of around 50 minutes. Most routes with base airfares between ₹150 and ₹199 per person are in the northeastern region of India. According to reports, there are also routes in the south, such as Bengaluru-Salem and Cochin-Salem, where the base ticket prices fall within this range.
According to the Airports Authority of India (AAI), 559 routes have been identified under the Regional Connectivity Scheme, also known as UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik), by March 31, 2024. The central government, state governments, and airport operators provide various incentives for flights under the regional flight service. Among other benefits, there are no ‘landing’ or ‘parking’ charges for these flights. The Ministry of Civil Aviation launched the UDAN scheme on October 21, 2016, to promote regional air connectivity and make air travel more affordable.
