The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has decided to resume the services of its Aqua-Line. This runs between Noida and Greater Noida. It is to resume on Saturdays, officials said on Friday.
To improve the coronavirus situation in the state, on August 11, the UP government lifted the weekend lockdown from Saturdays.
The government imposed curfews due to the COVID-19 pandemic on Saturdays and Sundays, with the metro rail service between Noida and Greater Noida remaining suspended for the weekend.

“Uttar Pradesh authorities have lifted the weekend curfew on Saturdays. Accordingly, the NMRC has determined to renew the metro rail service on Saturdays,” Maheshwari stated.
“This transformation will probably be efficient from August 14 onwards. The prepare operation is not going to be there on Sundays because the state authorities have not lifted the curfew on Sunday,” she added.

On Wednesday, the Uttar Pradesh government announced that movement of people would be allowed from 6 am to 10 pm from Mondays to Saturdays from August 14. As per the new directive issued, the curfew will not be implemented on Saturday but will stay in effect on Sunday
“People will mandatorily need to wear masks, observe social distancing and use sanitizer. Sunday lockdown or corona curfew will continue,” said Awanish K Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary-Home.
The order issued by Awanish K Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary, reads, “Movement of people allowed from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. from Mondays to Saturdays, with effect from 14th August. People will mandatorily need to wear masks, observe social distancing & use sanitizer. Sunday lockdown/Corona Curfew will continue.”
