Noida Airport to Start Operations in April 2025- Flights to Switzerland & Singapore Planned

Category-

Noida International Airport, located in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, is gearing up to start operations on April 17, 2025. This highly anticipated airport is expected to be a key aviation hub for North India, offering connections to 25 domestic destinations and 5 international cities, including Dubai, Singapore, and Zurich.

Expanding Domestic and International Connectivity

The airport will enhance air travel within India by providing flights to major cities such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Dehradun, Lucknow, and Hubli. On the international front, passengers will have access to flights to Dubai, Singapore, and Zurich right from the start. Additionally, there are plans to introduce routes to Brussels and Munich later in 2025, further strengthening links to Europe.

Currently, over 80% of the airport’s terminal construction has been completed. The installation schematics for the aerobridge system are being finalised, ensuring smooth passenger movement. Meanwhile, the air traffic control tower is fully operational, with all necessary structural work, including the installation of glass panels, completed.

Boosting Aviation and Economic Growth

Noida International Airport is expected to revolutionise air travel in North India by improving access to global destinations and boosting international tourism. The airport aims to handle around 12 million passengers annually, accommodating approximately 10,000 flights and processing up to 250,000 metric tons of cargo.

Authorities are currently in discussions with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), as well as airlines like IndiGo and Akasa Air to finalise flight routes. Future approvals will depend on bilateral agreements and passenger demand.

Looking ahead, Noida International Airport has ambitious plans for expansion. A state-of-the-art Multi-Modal Cargo Hub is set to be developed over 80 acres, while a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) centre will be built on 40 acres. With these developments, the airport is on track to become one of the largest in Asia.

In its first phase, the airport is designed to serve 12 million passengers annually. With international flights to Dubai, Singapore, and Zurich ready to take off, Noida International Airport is well on its way to becoming a major player in India’s aviation sector.
