The month of September brought exciting developments in the Indian automotive sector, showcasing new model launches and special editions of popular cars. Here are the standout vehicles that debuted this month:
Tata Curvv
Tata Motors kicked off September with the launch of the ICE-powered Curvv, starting at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). This model is available in four trims and three engine options. With a design reminiscent of the Curvv EV, featuring a sloping roofline and connected LED DRLs, it also has unique elements that set it apart. The Curvv is packed with features such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front seats. Safety highlights include a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, and parking sensors. Customers can choose between two turbo-petrol engines and one diesel option, with deliveries currently underway.
2024 Hyundai Alcazar Facelift
Hyundai unveiled the 2024 Alcazar facelift, priced between Rs 14.99 lakh and Rs 21.40 lakh (ex-showroom). Featuring design elements inspired by the updated Creta, it retains the same engine options as its predecessor. New additions include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone chargers, and enhanced safety features like Level-2 ADAS, which provides adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. The Alcazar remains a strong competitor against the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari.
MG Windsor EV
MG launched the Windsor EV in India, starting at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The unique pricing model requires an additional charge of Rs 3.5 per kilometre for battery usage, or customers can opt for an upfront payment starting at Rs 13.50 lakh. The Windsor EV features a single 38 kWh battery pack paired with a 136 PS electric motor, offering a range of 331 km. Key amenities include a 15.6-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, a panoramic glass roof, and a wireless phone charger, positioning it as a rival to the Tata Punch EV and Tata Nexon EV.
Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG
Maruti Suzuki introduced CNG variants of the 2024 Swift four months post the launch of the fourth-generation model. These factory-fitted CNG variants come at a premium of Rs 90,000 over standard versions and are available in three trims. While some top-spec features are omitted, the CNG Swift includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and delivers a claimed mileage of 32.85 km per kg from its 1.2-litre petrol engine, competing with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG and Tata Tiago CNG.
Tata Nexon CNG
After its reveal at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024, Tata Motors launched the Nexon CNG at Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It features a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 100 PS and 170 Nm in CNG mode, making it the first CNG vehicle in India with a turbo-petrol engine. The Nexon CNG is equipped with premium features such as a panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree camera, while its top variant is priced at Rs 14.59 lakh (ex-showroom).
Updated Tata Nexon EV
Tata updated the long-range variants of the Nexon EV with a larger 45 kWh battery pack, priced between Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 17.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The new battery pack pairs with a 145 PS / 215 Nm electric motor and offers a range of 489 km. The update also introduces a panoramic sunroof and a special Red Dark Edition of the Nexon EV.
Mahindra Thar Roxx 4×4
Mahindra revealed the pricing for the Thar Roxx 4×4, starting at Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom). This model features a 2.2-litre diesel engine with a power output of 152 PS (manual) or 175 PS (automatic), designed for off-road enthusiasts.
Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV
Mercedes-Benz launched the luxurious Maybach EQS 680 SUV at Rs 2.25 crore (ex-showroom). This all-electric vehicle features a distinctive design and a plush interior with a 17.7-inch touchscreen and a dual-motor setup delivering 658 PS and a range of 611 km.

The standard EQS SUV variant was launched at Rs 1.41 crore (ex-showroom), featuring a sleek design and advanced tech similar to the Maybach version, powered by a 544 PS electric motor and offering a range of 809 km.
Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II
Rolls-Royce introduced the facelifted Cullinan Series II in India, starting at Rs 10.5 crore (ex-showroom). With subtle exterior updates and luxurious interior features, it retains its powerful 6.75-litre V12 petrol engine.
