KFC Flavour Enhancer- The Secret Ingredient Which Can Ruin Your Health

KFC Secret Ingredient- Is Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) Safe?

KFC has listed on its official website that it uses Monosodium Glutamate in all of its chicken dishes to enhance the flavour of its food products. MSG is used in cooking as a flavour enhancer with an umami taste that intensifies the meaty, savoury flavour of food. It is naturally present in the food products like tomatoes and cheese. However, in tomato and cheese, the quantity of MSG is below the danger level, and therefore, anybody can consume them without having second thoughts. However, with KFC, it’s a different story.

Fast food chain KFC has clarified that it uses a certain level of MSG as a flavour enhancer that can put the health of children lesser than one-year-old and pregnant women at risk. KFC chicken products come with a warning at the back that states that children younger than one year and pregnant women should not consume them. You can even confirm the same while buying food from KFC.
