Sunny Deol’s film Gadar 2, which was released in August 2023, created a massive storm at the box office. The film collected ₹525 crore across India and ₹686 crore worldwide. Following that huge success, Sunny Deol has returned to the big screen with his new film Jaat. However, Jaat has earned significantly less than Gadar 2 on its opening day, which is quite disappointing. While Gadar 2 made ₹40.10 crore on day one, Jaat managed only ₹9.50 crore. So, how will the film perform on its second day? Let’s hear what the experts have to say.
Will There Be a Drop on Day 2?
Trade experts Atul Mohan and Taran Adarsh shared their views in an interview with Amar Ujala about the film’s first-day collection. Talking about the opening numbers, they said the film may see decent earnings by evening. However, a drop in collections is expected on the second day. Taran Adarsh said, “People in the industry expected an opening of just ₹6 to ₹7 crore, but night show collections are still to be counted, so the film might cross into double digits.”
He further added, “The expectations were higher, but since the film’s advance booking started only a day before release, it had an impact. This is a mass entertainer, and it will perform well in places like UP, Bihar, and Rajasthan. However, a drop is likely on day two. The film might still perform better over the weekend.”

A Decent Weekend Collection Expected
Trade analyst Atul Mohan said, “The film has underperformed slightly on day one. We expected a stronger opening, but the promotion was a bit low-key. However, in the next three days, the film’s performance should improve. It should manage a decent weekend collection.”
From the experts’ opinions, it seems the film may bounce back over the weekend with better earnings.
Star Cast of Jaat
Jaat is directed by Gopichand Malineni. Apart from Sunny Deol, the film stars Regina Cassandra, Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, Ramya Krishnan, and Jagapathi Babu.
