IndiGo initiates IATA Travel Pass For International Travel, Get To Know The Full Story

To safely resume air transport, the Government needs to ensure that the passengers and crew on board are not at risk of COVID – 19. They would need all the information regarding the passenger’s health record history related to COVID – 19.

Passengers should be aware of the vaccines, tests and other precautions they need to take before travelling. A safe and private space in which they can share their test results is also necessary.

To tackle all of these necessities and more, the IATA Travel Pass has been launched.

What is the IATA Travel Pass?

The IATA Travel Pass is an app that will allow passengers to save their test verified results and certifications for COVID – 19. Not only this, but it also helps you know which test and vaccine you would need for your journey.

Along with this, authorised labs can securely send test results to the passengers. Plus, passengers can find the testing centers at their arrival or departure location that conduct the kind of test needed for their journey.

How does it help?

According to the official IATA website, the app helps in the following ways:

Governments with the means to verify the authenticity of tests or vaccinations and the identity of those presenting their certificates.

Airlines with the ability to provide accurate information to their passengers on test requirements and verify that a passenger meets the requirements for travel.

Laboratories with the means to issue certificates to passengers that will be recognized by governments, and

Travelers with accurate information on test requirements, where they can get tested or vaccinated, and the means to securely convey the results/certificates to airlines and border authorities.

How do passengers get the app?

Even though the app is available for download on Google Play Store and Apple Store, you can only use it if the Airline you’re travelling with is part of the trial. If they are, they can guide you through the steps.

Overall, the IATA Travel Pass is a great initiative that accurately tackles issues and is the need of the hour. Stay tuned for more.
