On the passing of India’s great philanthropic industrialist Ratan Tata, prominent business leaders including Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other renowned figures expressed their condolences. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance, described Ratan Tata as one of India’s most respected and philanthropic sons. Along with Ambani, billionaire Gautam Adani and automotive industry titan Anand Mahindra also mourned Tata’s passing. Ratan Tata, Honorary Chairman of Tata Sons, passed away late Wednesday night at a hospital in Mumbai. Tata, who elevated industries from salt to software to new heights, was 86 years old.

In his message of grief, Mukesh Ambani said that India has lost one of its most esteemed sons, calling it a tragic day for the nation and the Indian industry. Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, remarked that India has lost a visionary who redefined the course of modern India. In a post on X, Adani said that Ratan Tata was not just a business leader; he embodied the spirit of India with an unwavering commitment to honesty, compassion, and the greater good. He added that giants like Tata remain immortal. “Om Shanti.” Anand Mahindra, another prominent figure in the auto sector, reflected on how Tata’s contributions have played a significant role in positioning India’s economy for a historic leap.

Ratan Tata Shaped the Fabric of India: N Chandrasekaran

In a statement from Tata’s family, they expressed comfort and solace in the love and respect Ratan Tata received from people who admired him. Though Tata is no longer physically present, his legacy of humility, generosity, and purpose will inspire future generations. N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, called Tata his mentor and guide. In a statement, he shared deep sorrow, bidding farewell to Ratan Naval Tata, an exceptional leader whose unmatched contributions shaped not just the Tata Group but the fabric of the nation. He highlighted that under Tata’s leadership since 1991, the Tata Group expanded its global presence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over Ratan Tata’s demise, calling him a visionary business leader and an extraordinary human being. On X, Modi wrote that Tata’s most unique quality was his ability to dream big and his passion for giving back. He led the way on critical issues such as education, healthcare, sanitation, and animal welfare.

Ratan Tata, the Titan of India: Harsh Goenka

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari expressed profound grief over Ratan Tata’s passing, describing him as a great son of the nation. Gadkari shared that he had a close familial relationship with Tata for over three decades. Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, also expressed their condolences. Billionaire Harsh Goenka mourned Tata’s loss, calling him a titan in a post on X. Despite recent health concerns, Tata had reassured the public on Monday that there was no need for worry, as he was merely undergoing checkups for age-related health issues.
