  • Plug the PS4 controller into the PS5 via charging cable.
  • Hold the PlayStation button on the controller for a few seconds till a light flashes.
  • Select the user from the list offered by your PS5.
  • Unplug the micro USB cable.

Now you can play your PS4 games on the PlayStation 5 easily. 

You can use the same method with PS4 headsets too.




 

How to Connect the PS4 Controller to PS5 Wirelessly

  • On your PS5, go to ‘Settings.’
  • Go to ‘Accessories.’ Press x.
  • Hover to ‘Bluetooth Accessories’ and press x.
  • Press the share button and the PlayStation button of your controller together.
  • A light will flash.
  • Once the PlayStation4 controller pairs with the PlayStation5, it appears on the screen under “Accessories found.”

How to Unpair the PS4 Controller From PS5

  • Navigate to ‘Settings.’
  • Scroll down the submenu and select Accessories’.
  • Next, select “Bluetooth Accessories.”
  • A list appears which shows the devices connected to your PS5. 
  • Select DualShock 4 and press ‘Delete.’

Remember that you can’t use a PlayStation5 controller on your PlayStation4. It is the other way round. So, start your game! Happy gaming!
