About Deva
Deva is a Hindi adaptation of the 2013 Malayalam thriller Mumbai Police, originally starring Prithviraj Sukumaran. Rosshan Andrrews has modified parts of the storyline, including a key change in the climax. Shahid Kapoor plays ACP Dev Ambre, an officer who loses his memory while investigating his best friend’s murder. Pooja Hegde portrays Diya Sathaye, a journalist and Dev’s love interest. The film also features Pavail Gulati and Kubbra Sait in pivotal roles.
Shahid’s performance has been well-received, though the film itself has garnered mixed reactions from critics and audiences. Addressing comparisons between Deva and Kabir Singh, Shahid clarified that while Dev Ambre is an intense character, he is distinctly different from Kabir Singh or any of his past roles.
