Delhi to Witness Rainfall Over Next Two Days, Yellow Alert Issued for Wednesday

Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) are set to receive rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday due to a depression formed in the wake of Cyclone Yagi, now moving northwest from Jharkhand.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi and surrounding areas on Wednesday.

This rainfall is expected to add to the significant amount of rain the capital has already received in September, surpassing the monthly average within the first 15 days.

The IMD has urged residents to exercise caution as the rain could lead to slippery roads, reduced visibility, and potential flooding in low-lying areas.

The low-pressure system is expected to pass through Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh before reaching Delhi. An orange alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

Residents in these states have been warned to prepare for possible disruptions due to intense rainfall, such as waterlogging and traffic delays.
