Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal unveiled the party’s manifesto on Monday ahead of the Delhi assembly elections next month. The manifesto includes 15 key guarantees, focusing on employment, women’s welfare, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Key promises include guaranteed jobs for youth, ₹2,100 monthly aid for women under the Mahila Samman Yojana, and free healthcare for senior citizens. The party also pledged free bus rides for students, a 50 percent metro fare concession, 24/7 clean water supply, and the waiver of increased water bills. Other commitments include cleaning the Yamuna River, upgrading Delhi’s roads, and scholarships for SC/ST students to study abroad. Additionally, priests and Gurudwara Granthis will receive ₹18,000 monthly, and financial aid will be provided for auto drivers and tenants.
Kejriwal accused the BJP of copying AAP’s ideas, stating, “We fulfil our guarantees, while they do not.” Meanwhile, the BJP’s manifesto, released on Saturday, promises ownership rights in 1,700 unauthorised colonies, cleaning the Yamuna in three years, and free healthcare up to ₹10 lakh. The two parties continue to clash over governance promises ahead of the February 5 elections, with results to be announced on February 8.
