The days of free cloud storage on Google Photos will get over soon from June 1 onwards, as the tech company has come up with its new plans and the users will be charged for its storage services.

Until now, the tech giant was offering unlimited storage space to its customers for storing their memorable pictures and videos. And now customers are left with less than 20 days to save their precious memories on the cloud before getting charged.

Charges of Google Photos

Google is likely to charge $1.99 (Rs. 146 at current rates) per month from its customers to save their pictures and videos in cloud storage only if they have reached the 15GB limit and want more space for storage.

The customers also have another option to switch to an annual subscription plan that will charge $19.99 per year (Rs. 1,464 at current rates).

Just to clear all the doubts, these applied charges will only be applicable to new pictures and videos that you will store from June 1 onwards. That means your old photos and videos that are stored currently will be safe.

The company gave its statement by conducting a big announcement in November 2020, that the company will no longer provide unlimited free storage for ‘high-quality photos or videos on Google Photos anymore from June 1, 2021.
