Crash Landing on You follows two star-crossed lovers, Yoon Se-ri (Son Ye-jin), a South Korean chaebol heiress to Queen’s Group, and Ri Jeong-hyeok (Hyun Bin), a North Korean elite and captain in the Korean People’s Army.

Yoon Se-ri is paragliding in Seoul, South Korea, when she is knocked out and blown off course by a tornado. When she wakes up, her paraglider has crashed into a tree in a forest in the North Korean portion of the DMZ, which is off-limits to South Koreans. She then meets Ri Jeong-hyeok, who eventually provides her with shelter and devises plans to help her return to South Korea in secret. Despite their differences, they eventually fall in love.
