Following the recent price hikes by major telecom operators like Jio, Airtel, and Vi, many subscribers in India have started switching to BSNL due to its budget-friendly recharge plans. The state-owned telecom company has taken advantage of this shift, aiming to reclaim its market position and accelerate its 4G service rollout nationwide. As private telecom companies have increased tariffs by an average of 15%, BSNL is promoting its affordable plans to attract more users.
Recently, BSNL shared details about one of its affordable plans via its X account (formerly Twitter). The plan offers 3GB of data per day for just Rs 214 per month. Priced at Rs 599, it comes with 84 days of validity. Here are the details of this plan:
BSNL Rs 599 Prepaid Recharge Plan
The Rs 599 plan provides 84 days of validity and includes unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS per day. It is ideal for heavy data users, offering 3GB of high-speed data per day, amounting to a total of 252GB over the validity period. At just Rs 214 per month, it is one of the most affordable plans for daily 3GB data.

Meanwhile, according to a report by The Hindu, BSNL’s Andhra Pradesh Principal General Manager, L. Srinu, revealed in a press conference that the company is set to launch 5G services by Sankranti in 2025. BSNL is currently focused on improving its infrastructure, including towers and essential equipment, to speed up its 5G rollout.
Notably, BSNL’s 4G technology, provided by Tata Consultancy Services, is built to easily transition to 5G, minimizing the need for significant additional investment. The 5G rollout will begin in areas where BSNL has already implemented its 4G services, ensuring a smooth upgrade process.
