Several Bollywood films have hit the theatres recently, but most of them are struggling to perform well at the box office. Emergency and Azaad, both released on January 17, have failed to attract audiences. Similarly, Game Changer and Fateh, which were released on January 10, have also not received much appreciation. Let’s take a look at their box office earnings as of Tuesday.
Emergency
Kangana Ranaut’s directorial venture Emergency features her in the role of India’s first female Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. The film is based on the Emergency period imposed in India. Despite receiving clearance from the Censor Board and making it to theatres, it has failed to pull in audiences.
According to Sacnilk, Emergency collected ₹2.50 crore on its opening day. On the second day, it earned ₹3.60 crore, followed by ₹4.25 crore on Sunday. On Monday, the earnings dropped to ₹1.05 crore, and on Tuesday, it further fell to just ₹1 crore. So far, Emergency has made a total collection of ₹12.40 crore at the box office.
Azaad
Bollywood newcomers Rasha Thadani and Aman Devgan made their debut with Azaad, but the film has failed to create an impact. It earned only ₹1.05 crore on its opening day. On Saturday, it collected ₹1.30 crore, followed by ₹1.75 crore on Sunday. However, the earnings dropped significantly on Monday, with the film collecting just ₹65 lakh. On Tuesday, the collection further declined to ₹55 lakh, bringing the total earnings of Azaad to ₹5.75 crore.
Game Changer
Despite a grand opening, Ram Charan’s much-awaited film Game Changer has not sustained its initial success. The film opened with a massive ₹51 crore, but its earnings have been declining ever since.
In its first week, Game Changer collected ₹117.65 crore. On the eighth day, it made ₹2.75 crore, followed by ₹2.40 crore on the ninth day and ₹2.60 crore on the tenth day. However, by the eleventh day, the earnings dropped to ₹1 crore, and on Tuesday, it further declined to ₹85 lakh. The total box office collection of Game Changer now stands at ₹127.25 crore.
Fateh
Sonu Sood’s action-packed film Fateh has also failed to perform well at the box office. The film opened with ₹2.04 crore on its first day. By the end of the first week, it had earned ₹11.01 crore. However, the collections took a sharp dip, with the film making only ₹15 lakh on Monday and ₹14 lakh on Tuesday. Fateh has now accumulated a total of ₹12.54 crore.
Pushpa 2
Unlike the recent releases, Allu Arjun’s blockbuster Pushpa 2, which hit theatres on December 5, 2024, continues to dominate the box office. It collected ₹10.65 crore on its opening day.
In its first week, the film made a staggering ₹725.08 crore, followed by ₹264.08 crore in the second week. The earnings remained strong in the third week, reaching ₹129.05 crore, while the fourth week brought in ₹69.65 crore. In the fifth week, the film collected ₹25.25 crore, and in the sixth week, it earned ₹9.07 crore. So far, Pushpa 2 has amassed an incredible ₹1228.09 crore at the box office.
While most recent Bollywood films have struggled to make a mark, Pushpa 2 continues its box office dominance, proving its massive popularity among audiences.
