The horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which hit theatres on November 1 during the Diwali celebrations, has become a massive box-office success, earning over ₹200 crore. Fans who missed watching the film on the big screen are eagerly awaiting its OTT debut, expected on Netflix in January 2025.

Directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by T-Series, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 features an ensemble cast, including Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, and Triptii Dimri. This third installment continues the legacy of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise, which began in 2007 with Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan in lead roles. The 2022 sequel, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, starred Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu, and was also a major success.

Kartik Aaryan, who celebrates his 34th birthday on November 22, expressed his gratitude to fans, calling the film’s success an early birthday gift. He shared a special moment with co-star Madhuri Dixit on Instagram, recreating the iconic song Pehla Pehla Pyar from her 1994 film Hum Aapke Hain Koun. The nostalgic dance, however, took a spooky turn as Madhuri transformed into her Manjulika avatar mid-dance, playfully grabbing Kartik by the neck.

The original Pehla Pehla Pyar was sung by S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, with music by Raam Laxman and lyrics by Dev Kohli. Madhuri’s memorable performance alongside Salman Khan remains a fan favorite to this day.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 marks the third major horror-comedy hit of 2024, following Munjya and Stree 2. The success of these films indicates a rising trend for the genre, paving the way for more such releases in the future.
