Last Friday, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer were released simultaneously, resulting in a significant box office clash. Surprisingly, both Hollywood films performed admirably well in the Indian market. Oppenheimer, in particular, achieved remarkable success by raking in an impressive Rs 13.50 crore net on its opening day.
This surpassed the opening day collections of other blockbuster films like Fast X and Mission Impossible, which had earned approximately Rs 12 crore net each. The success of Oppenheimer at the box office was highlighted as it set the screens ablaze with its exceptional collections of Rs 13.50 crore net.

Barbie’s opening day collection in India was nowhere close to that of Oppenheimer. However, it was largely adept at earning Rs 4.25-4.50 crore net on day one.
Oppenheimer is a biographical film centered around Robert Oppenheimer, the brilliant mind responsible for creating the world’s first atomic bomb. The star-studded cast includes Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, and several other notable actors.

On the other hand, Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig, features an equally impressive ensemble cast comprising Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Dua Lipa, Simu Liu, Ariana Greenblatt, Michael Cera, Emma Mackey, and more. The movie revolves around the iconic Barbie character and promises an exciting cinematic experience with this talented lineup of actors.
