Deliveries of the Bajaj Freedom CNG motorcycle have commenced, with the first bike handed over to a customer in Pune. Bajaj has announced that bookings for the Freedom CNG are now open across India. Initially, the bike will be available in Maharashtra and Gujarat, as stated at the time of launch.
The Bajaj Freedom is the world’s first CNG motorcycle, equipped with a 2kg CNG tank housed within a trellis frame that also serves as a protective cage for the tank. Our road tests revealed that the bike can cover 104km per kilogram of CNG, though fuel efficiency may vary depending on the CNG pressure at the pump.
Powered by a 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, the Bajaj Freedom produces 9.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 9.7Nm at 5,000rpm. The engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox.
The bike’s design is both functional and stylish, appealing to commuter motorcycle riders. It features an LED headlight and tail light, and the top variant includes a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity.

The Bajaj Freedom’s steel trellis frame is supported by a telescopic fork and a link-type monoshock. It rides on a 17-inch front wheel and a 16-inch rear wheel. The top variant is equipped with a front disc brake and a rear drum brake, while the base variant has drum brakes on both wheels.
Competing with models like the Honda Shine 125, Hero Xtreme 125, and TVS Raider 125, the Bajaj Freedom offers a unique option in the 125cc segment.
