This year, Diwali coincides with Amavasya, the new moon phase, which begins in the afternoon. The main celebrations will commence on the night of October 31, making it an important time for both spiritual reflection and festive joy.
Deepotsav and Hanuman Jayanti
On October 30, the day before Diwali, Deepotsav will be celebrated. This festival involves lighting diyas and decorating homes, setting the stage for Diwali’s bright festivities. This year, Deepotsav also coincides with Hanuman Jayanti, a significant celebration in Ayodhya that honors the birth of Lord Hanuman.
