Maidaan is a biographical sports drama film directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Zee Studios. It is based on the golden age of Indian football (1952-1962) and stars Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, Priyamani, Rudranil Ghosh, and Gajraj Rao. A. R. Rahman wrote the music. Maidaan Release Date
Maidaan is scheduled for theatrical release on 23rd June 2023. The movie has been postponed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic, dates clashes with other films and other reasons.
Principle filming began on August 19, 2019 and was delayed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, eventually finishing in May 2022. The film was supposed to be released in theatres on June 3, 2022, however it was postponed owing to awaiting post-production work. It will now be released in theatres on June 23, 2023.
