Actor Ajay Devgn is all set to return to the big screen as an income tax officer, conducting another high-profile raid. After a long wait and multiple release date changes, the much-anticipated sequel to Ajay Devgn’s 2018 film Raid, titled Raid 2, is finally ready for release. Ajay Devgn has officially announced the new release date of the film.

Ajay Devgn took to Instagram to share a new poster of Raid 2 along with its latest release date. In the caption, he wrote, “A new city, a new file, and Amay Patnaik’s new raid. Raid 2 is set to hit your nearest theatres on May 1.”
Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor Join the Cast
Apart from Ajay Devgn, Raid 2 will also feature Riteish Deshmukh, Vaani Kapoor, and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles. The film will be directed by Rajkumar Gupta.

Multiple Release Delays
The release of Raid 2 has been postponed several times. Initially, it was scheduled to hit theatres on November 15, 2024, but was later pushed to February 21, 2025. However, it did not release on that date either. Now, the latest release date has been announced, and most of the film has been shot in Delhi and Lucknow.
Inspired by a True Story
Raid 2 is the sequel to the 2018 film Raid, which was based on a real-life income tax raid conducted in Uttar Pradesh in the 1980s. The raid lasted for several days and is considered one of the longest income tax searches in Indian history. The film was well-received by audiences at the box office. Raid starred Ajay Devgn alongside Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla.
