Flight operations at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport will be halted for a few hours. According to information provided by the airport authority on Saturday, services at the airport will be suspended for approximately 5 hours on November 9.
Why will there be a 5-hour suspension?
Officials have shared that the 5-hour suspension will be implemented for the ‘Alpassi Arattu’ ritual of the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple. During this time, the runway route is used for the procession.

When will the suspension be in effect?
As per Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Ltd (TIAL), flight operations at the airport will be suspended from 4 PM to 9 PM on November 9. Passengers are advised to regularly check their flight timings. When the airport was originally constructed, it was decided that it would remain dedicated to Lord Padmanabha for two days annually for this ritual.
