Agent Movie Review: A pale thriller that never gets going.

Agent Movie Review: Akhil Akkineni’s latest spy action thriller is a half-baked project that never gets going. It has its moments, but overall the film lacks the spark which is needed in this high-octane spy thriller. It seems that the younger Akkineni will have to wait a bit more to get a solid hit under his belt.

Agent Movie Review Rating: ★★ | 2/5

Agent Movie Review: Akhil Akkineni's Spy-Thriller is a Half-Baked Project

Agent Movie Review

The film Agent has a poor script that is exacerbated by poor direction and topped off with poor music. This farcical action film had everything go wrong. Dino Morea, as the villain, is miscast, and Akhil’s characterization backfires. There is nothing that works in favour of the film when it comes to generating viewers’ interest for a prolonged period of time.

Agent has its moments, but the film never gets completely soaking. There is always that spark lacking, which makes the spy thriller interesting and engaging. It seems that the filmmakers have spent more time on the costume design and looks of the cats instead of trying to make the film more engaging and interesting.

Agent is a half-baked idea that just wants to get the benefit of the positive air surrounding the action thrillers in India. Recently, Pathaan became the biggest blockbuster in India, and it was also a spy action thriller. Similarly to that, Agent tries to cash in on the same type of premise. However, the film falls flat, and there is nothing which really stands out.

Surender Reddy has surely disappointed with his direction. The screenplay of the movie is quite poor. It is neither crisp nor exciting. The only good thing about the film is the debutant, Sakshi Vaidya. She shines in her role and showcases that she is here to stay for a long time. The music department of the film is also quite bearable, but other than that, there is nothing to praise about this half-baked project.
