Our Padmavat actress Deepika Padukone has never failed to amuse us and this time she is coming up as an acid attack survivor named Malti in the film Chhapaak. The plot is based on the real-life story of Laxmi Agarwal. The movie is under the direction of Meghna Gulzar((known for stellar movies such as Raazi and Talvar), The movie has already created a buzz amongst the audience from the release of the poster. Deepika added in her tweet “A character that will stay with me forever, Malti.”
The release date of the film is 10th January 2020
Chhapaak will be co-produced by Deepika Padukone, who founded the Live Love Laugh Foundation, an NGO that helps those struggling with mental illness. The actress had opened up about battling depression in 2015. Chhapaak will also be Deepika’s first film after her wedding to Ranveer Singh.
Most of the Bollywood celebrities have given their best wishes to the film on Twitter, the movie has already begun to collect love from its audience.
