Gadar 2 is an upcoming Hindi language movie starring Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Singh in the lead. It is the sequel to the Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which was released in 2001. Interestingly, the sequel is made after 22 years and yet the main cast includes Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Singh played pivotal roles in the original Gadar movie.

On October 15, 2021, Zee Studio, along with Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma, made an official announcement on their social media accounts about the sequel to Gadar, titled Gadar 2: The Katha Continues. They revealed that the movie would be released in 2022, and they also shared a motion poster. On January 26, 2023, which was Republic Day, the first poster of the sequel featuring Sunny Deol as Tara Singh wielding a hammer was unveiled.

Gadar 2 Teaser starts off with the Crush India Movement in Pakistan in 1971. We see a group of Pakistanis fervently shouting the movement’s slogan before Sunny Deol marks his entry. The teaser then shifts to show Sunny Deol in action with a wheel. At the end of the 1-minute teaser, we see Sunny Deol repenting and the iconic Ud Ja Kale Kawa song playing in the background. This time around, the story of Gadar will revolve around Tara Singh’s son. It seems that Tara Singh will revisit Pakistan to save the love story of his son.

Gadar 2 is directed by Anil Sharma. The movie will clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal and Akshay Kumar’s Oh My God 2 at the theatres on 11th August 2023. The teaser of the film has raised expectations, and you can expect Gadar 2 to be a blockbuster. The original Gadar movie, which was released in 2001, clashed with Aamir Khan’s Lagaan and did exceptional numbers at the box office.
