Yesterday, our Bollywood star donated Rs 2 crore to Mumbai Police Foundation as the country fights coronavirus pandemic.
The heartwarming news was shared by the Mumbai Police Commissioner, Param Bir Singh. He tweeted sharing the praiseworthy incident and thanked Akshay for his contribution.
Our Khiladi has been known to help to his best when it comes to a necessity for the society’s aid. In the first week of April, Akshay Kumar donated Rs 25 crore in the Prime Minister Care Fund to help the COVID-19 affectees in the country.Â
Adding to this, in March-end he also provided BMC, Mumbai a provision of Rs 3 crore. The donation was to support the production and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks and hand sanitizer to people.Â
On April 7, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started a campaign “Muskurayega India” on Twitter to support all the citizens and workers in the country amid the outbreak. Supporting the campaign, Akshay voiced and vlogged himself for the video with full motivational charisma.Â
Along with Akshay Kumar, the song features various Bollywood actors including Kartik Aaryan, Tiger Shroff, Vicky Kaushal, Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana and Kriti Sanon. On the other hand, Akshay has also been known for his bold comments and support for the righteous.Â
On March 24, a video was posted on his official Twitter and Instagram handle which eventually became a wildfire.
In the video, Akshay slammed those who were coming out of their homes during the lockdown and hurtling the law and order. “Have some people lost it? Who all are not understanding the meaning of lockdown?”
“Lockdown means you are supposed to stay at home, with your family and not roaming around in the streets.
Are you trying to show how brave you are by stepping out? It is not going to help. I’m requesting you with folded hands please use your brain,” Akshay said in the video.Â
The actor, who completed his 29 years in the film industry in January, has been present to motivate and influence well in others.
He has always urged the citizens of India to be united in this difficult situation. And we can fight against it with proper functioning, maintaining social distancing and helping each other with the best that we can.
