She is one of the top-paid Malayalam film actresses who is now getting substantial roles in Tamil and Telugu films. Vaathi is centred around Dhanush’s character Balamurugan (Tamil) / Bala Gangadhar Tilak (Telugu), who is a junior lecturer at Thirupati Educational Institute. The story is about him standing against the institutes that provide education in exchange for business profits.
