Recently, Sidhu Moose Wala lost his VIP security after the Punjab government-run by Bhagwant Mann decided to crack down on VIP culture by revoking the security of more than 400 VIPs in Punjab.
The news has caused mayhem in the Punjab and the music fraternity of India. Sidhu was only 28 years of age and had his entire career ahead of him. His unfortunate demise has sparked many debates about the decision taken by the Punjab government. Sidhu was earlier the part of VIP security, under which he was assigned four security personnel.
The singer was going to visit his friend in his hometown when the murderers intercepted him in the middle of his journey. Moose Wala was with two security guards of his own, but they could not protect him at the crucial moment.
Sidhu Moose Wala had contested the election in Mansa village in the recent assembly election. He joined the Indian National Congress to contest the election but was defeated by the AAP candidate by a margin of more than sixty thousand votes. Now the rumours are running rampant that his political rivals had organised the murder.
Sidhu Moose Wala became highly popular in his short career. He regularly topped the music charts in the UK with his singles and delivered hits after hits. The Guardian included him in the top 50 new artists of the year in 2020. He was also very famous in Canada, and his songs in Moosetape became considerable hits in that country.
Earlier the document containing details of all the VIPs whose security was removed by the Punjab government came out in public which raised the issue of carelessness in the Punjab government.
