Traveling during the pandemic is a hassle and fatal to your health due to the Coronavirus. It is becoming increasingly important to know how crowded a train station might be at a particular time or whether the bus is running on a limited schedule.

As the countries of the world are beginning to reopen, the trains will once again become jam-packed. And thus, essential workers or business workers need to be careful not to catch the virus during their commute.

The new feature in Google Maps enables users to see how packed their train is to avoid crowds during their commute.

Why is it important to know how busy a train is?

Train overcrowding is unacceptable and is going to get worse. Because of these walls of people, while entering or leaving the trains, the daily commute becomes a burden for many people and can be exhausting to pus past people just to get a seat.

Thus, this new feature is beneficial. The user can simply check the predictions on how busy it will be to decide beforehand which train box they plan to enter and avoid crowds.

Safely avoid crowds on public transit

Last year, the company introduced crowdedness predictions for public transit in Google Maps. Powered by tens of millions of contributions from past riders, these predictions help people see how crowded a particular bus line or train tends to be.

How do you use that feature?

You just have to look up Directions, tap through to see the Transit Details, then scroll down to find crowdedness predictions (where available) and easily contribute your own experiences. It is available on both android and IOS and is available in more than a hundred countries

We hope you found the article informative, and this information makes your public transit comparatively more accessible than before.
