Emraan Hashmi’s much-awaited film Ground Zero hit the box office on Friday. The movie is based on the story of BSF Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey and depicts the mission to eliminate the infamous terrorist ‘Ghazi Baba’. However, Ground Zero crashed on its opening day. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2 is performing fairly well, and Sunny Deol’s Jaat is now struggling with its collections shrinking to lakhs. Here’s a look at how these films performed on Friday:
Ground Zero
Fans had high hopes for Emraan Hashmi’s Ground Zero, but it failed to meet expectations on its opening day. The film managed to earn only ₹1 crore at the box office. Set in the aftermath of the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, the film stars Emraan Hashmi along with Sai Tamhankar, Zoya Hussain, Mukesh Tiwari, Rocky Raina, and Guneet Singh.
Kesari 2
Based on the events following the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, Kesari 2 performed decently on Friday, even crossing the ₹50 crore mark. With a slight boost in earnings, it collected ₹4.42 crore on Friday.
Kesari 2 Total Collection
Kesari 2 opened with ₹7.75 crore and collected ₹46.1 crore in its first week. On the first day of the second week (Friday), it earned ₹4.42 crore, taking its total collection to ₹50.52 crore. The film’s estimated budget is around ₹150 crore.
Jaat
Sunny Deol’s Jaat has been in theatres for 16 days now but has yet to cross the ₹100 crore mark. So far, it has collected a total of ₹81.6 crore. On Friday, the film earned just ₹85 lakh. Apart from Sunny Deol, the cast includes Regina Cassandra, Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, Sayami Kher, Ramya Krishnan, and Jagapathi Babu.
