Salman Khan’s much-awaited film Sikandar has not lived up to expectations at the box office. Released on March 30, the film has struggled to collect a significant amount by its third day (April 1). Given its massive budget and Salman Khan’s stardom, the movie’s earnings so far are considered disappointing.
‘Sikandar’ Fails to Impress the Audience
Sikandar has been directed by renowned South Indian filmmaker AR Murugadoss, known for delivering blockbuster hits like Ghajini. In the film, Salman Khan plays a fearless and brave character who fights against injustice and corruption. Rashmika Mandanna stars as the lead actress, marking her first collaboration with Salman. Additionally, the movie features Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar in pivotal roles. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film blends action and emotions but has failed to win over audiences due to its weak script.
Box Office Collection So Far
Reports suggest that Sikandar has a massive budget of around ₹200 crore. To be considered a hit, it needs to earn at least ₹400 crore. However, in the first three days, the film’s total domestic collection has not even reached ₹100 crore. This raises concerns that the movie might be heading towards a box office failure.

Tough Competition at the Box Office
Sikandar is facing stiff competition from other films currently running in theatres. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan was also released recently. Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhava is still performing well and is close to crossing ₹600 crore at the box office.
Can ‘Sikandar’ Recover?
Salman Khan’s previous film Tiger 3 opened with ₹44.5 crore on its first day, whereas Sikandar has failed to reach that level despite releasing on the festive occasion of Eid. This underwhelming performance has surprised both fans and trade analysts. It remains to be seen how much the film can earn in the coming days.
