Salman Khan’s Sikandar: How Much Does It Need to Earn to Be a Hit?

Category-

The countdown has begun for the much-anticipated release of Sikandar, starring Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. In recent years, the actor has faced challenges at the box office, and this Eid could mark a major turning point in his career. Given his recent track record, Sikandar is being seen as a crucial film that could re-establish his dominance. But with a massive budget, how much does the action thriller need to earn to be declared a hit? Let’s take a closer look.

Sikandar’s Budget

While Tiger 3 holds the title of Salman Khan’s most expensive film, reportedly made at a budget of ₹300 crore, Sikandar is not far behind. The upcoming film is said to have a production cost of around ₹200 crore, making it one of the biggest ventures in his career.

Given its high budget, the film will need a significant box office performance to secure a successful verdict. In fact, it must surpass all of Salman’s previous films in terms of earnings to achieve clean-hit status.

How Much Does Sikandar Need to Earn?

According to general box office calculations, a film must earn at least double its budget to be considered a clean hit. Based on this formula, Sikandar needs to collect ₹400 crore net at the Indian box office to generate a 100% return on investment. If it manages to reach this milestone, it will officially become Salman Khan’s highest-grossing film domestically.

Currently, Tiger Zinda Hai remains his top-grossing film in India, with a net collection of ₹339.16 crore. To surpass this and achieve hit status, Sikandar will need to earn approximately 18% more than Tiger Zinda Hai.

Can Sikandar Achieve This Milestone?

Reaching ₹400 crore is undoubtedly a challenging task, but it is not impossible—especially if the film receives strong audience support and positive word-of-mouth. Post-pandemic, Tiger 3 has been Salman Khan’s biggest success, collecting ₹286 crore at the Indian box office.

With high expectations surrounding Sikandar, all eyes are on whether it can outperform Tiger 3 and become Salman’s next blockbuster hit. The final verdict will ultimately depend on the audience’s reception once the film hits the big screen.
